WELCOME TO HUMSS (INTRODUCTION)
Welcome
to our blog!

INTRODUCTION
This blog is about Humanities and Social Sciences strand
or simply known as HUMSS. It also contains our Journal in which we express our
own experience in HUMSS, to our subject in E Tech and our application letter.
We also promote Davao Central College (DCC) as a qualified school for HUMSS.
Please feel free to inspire as you read our Journal
in which we express our ups and downs as a HUMSS and a student of Davao Central
College. We also hope that you would listen to our Promotional video and look
forward to our edited picture in which we attach some memorable pictures of or
strand.
What is to be a HUMSS: Humanities and Social
Sciences strand is a strand we choose! It is not because it’s the strand we
want but we are destined to be one.
E Tech: If there is technological advance without
social advance, there is, almost automatically, and increase in human misery.
Empowerment Technologies (E Tech), a huge motivation for us a students, it is
one of the most challenging subjects but once you are enjoying, you have to
deal with the task that you are going to do. E Tech expands the learning
experience of students, it also give us an opportunities to improve
collaborative communication skills, and exploration to discover results on our
own. It helps us to do task with the use of technology, one of this experiences
is making mail merge, though it is a simple thing to do but it is the hardest
thing to apply. Making mail merge isn’t that easy but it can help us show our
talent and capability to do our best to do it. E Tech enhances our skills in
doing such thing that can suit our ability to make any kind of task using
technologies. It developed material in the form of collaboratively designed
letter, blog and website that is intended for a specific group of students
specially reader or viewers. I myself believe that one day be the time to travel
because when we find that something isn't forbidden by the over-arching laws of
physics we usually eventually find a technological way of doing it.

Humanities and Social Sciences strand
or simply known as HUMSS, the course I choose and which I was destined. Being
one of the humanities is a great experience, I learned a lot of things and I
learn more about myself.
One of the great impact of my life
is to be one of HUMSS students, to be honest I can’t imagine that it was hard
to be one. The lessons are not as easy as I thought. I think that learning is a
continual stage. With all the pressure I
experience as a student, I don’t felt any discouragement. Thanks, for the
teachers of Davao Central College. Though, sometimes they have some attitude
problem but still, they help us to have courage and give us enough knowledge to
our course. Being a DCCian or a student of Davao central College, is such a
good time. And I’m proud to be one. The people such as my classmates where very
friendly and the school teaches good education and values.
Lastly, HUMSS is fun and
challenging. In this strand it helps me to be what I am and teaches me to be a
good and knowledgeable person. Well, I don’t force someone to be in this
course. But, I encourage everyone to trust in God and be positive always.

Gilliane
Azuro’s Journal
For
five years in Davao Central College, leadership and excellence both in academic
and extra-curricular activities has been a part of my being as a DCCian. Being
passionate in attaining well performance tasks and any activities that is set
before us is no longer new to me. I discovered this hidden potential of mine
back when I was in Grade 8. That year was my most favorite year of my junior
years because that was the first stepping stone of my life. It was the first
time Iengaged myself with different activities which greatly made me “gahot”
till now in Senior High.
Under
the wings of HUMSS Department, I am very privileged in pursuing the things I
love – performing. One performance task
that I will never forget is the Speech Choir with the piece of William G.
Bacani, The Resiliency of a Filipino. It was an intersection competition and
seeing the other performers was very nervy knowing that we were fully
unprepared. I will never overlook the moment we prayed as one in circle and
surrendered that performance task to the Lord. Amazingly and wonderfully, we
got the highest average for the competition. Being one of the leaders, I am
much overwhelmed because of the response and the fruit of our performance.
What
makes it coherent with my Grade 8 experience is that we also have performed the
same piece during the inter-school competition (DPARISA LitMus). Victoriously,
DCC got over-all champion by that time. It was very honoring and much
overwhelming knowing that I was also one of the leaders and contributor to our
performance.
So
that is the most unforgettable experience of mine in DCC. Apart from the Lord,
they are all nothing.

Humanities
and Social Sciences strand is one of the best strands offered in Davao Central
College. In this strand, our confidence will enhance more and being a public
speaker as well. We discovered new things in this strand. Humanities and Social
Sciences (HUMSS) strand is good for the students who are taking a course of
Education, Criminology, Mass Communication and etc. that deals with human. In
this strand, we will know how to speak confidently in public. It has interesting
lessons and challenging tasks. In Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)
strand, I've learned a lot, a lot of things and lessons in life.
My
experiences in Davao Central College are so memorable due to the activities
that we have done inside the campus. In this school, it has an excellent
teachers yet a model of every Senior High School students in Davao Central
College. We've experienced lots of challenging tasks but still we surpass it
all. Though there are some of us who are sleepless in the night because of the
tasks that needs to be finished, but still we did and made it successfully.
Humanities
and Social Sciences strand makes you a better student and leads you in a better
and successful life. Be part of our strand. Be one of us. Humanities and Social
Sciences.

In
this school year I interact with different things that challenge me. Most
especially the best section where I belong. Even though more challenges occurs
such as dealing with DLP program that made u feel tired but enjoy. Meeting new
friends and develop that in a good relationship where you do not attain goal
because u understand every uniqueness of individual. Being an open minded
person creates unity. That’s the best thing I experience during this year.
When
it comes in study DCC prove that they are ready in any problems will occur especially
the teachers who motivate every student to do their part as a student in order
to be a better student not only for grades but also for the attitude. Yes life
in DCC is not easy to be free because more policy imposes but this thing
reminds us how to observed limitations to control what things can ruin our
study.
In
this school year ends I will never forgot the memories I got in 7Humss trials,
commitment, unity, understanding and especially friendship. This adjective
describe how this section created camaraderie.
It shows how student interact differently, not knowing it shows unity.

Rejean Geonzon’s Journal
This
is it, humanities and social sciences stand or simply known as HUMSS. Some
might say that HUMSS strand is boring because of its specialization subjects
like introduction to world religion and social sciences but when I’m belong
with this strand all I can say that is a good perception towards people
specially us a HUMSS student.
HUMSS
really developed me into a good and responsible one due to its specialization
and satisfaction that brought me back. one of our specialization is the
introduction to world religions and belief system is meant that it familiarize
student with the range of human experiences and also it helps me understand the
different religion in the world on which it can predict the significance of it
on our country. Second is the social science, it is the specialization on which
helps students understand the study about governance and different theory, it
enhance students thinking ability that can make us more relevant and can think
critically with its function.
Careers
like being a lawyer, teacher, and diplomat are very rewarding. You will be able
to contribute to the world by bringing justice, moulding the youth, or creating
friendships between countries. Being in the HUMSS strand gives you the chance
to make a mark in the world!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Airona Palot’s Journal
I chose HUMSS strand (Humanities and
Social Sciences) because under this field is my dream to become a teacher since
I was 6 years old. Under HUMSS strand is really a challenge for me because this
field isn’t that easy to fulfil every subject required especially in General
Mathematics in the first Semester. It is not easy to do the required tasks
given by our teachers but at the end of the day I could surpass those stressful
works in God’s will and time (ALHAMDULILLAH).
This field taught me how to
understand different types of people such us being jolly, loving, naughty, hard
headed, sweet, and some students are bitter-sweet combination. In addition, I
found myself to be more understanding in terms of the different attitudes of my
classmates. On the other hand, the new system of education well known as DLP or
Dynamic Learning Program is a challenge to all the students, it is not easy
since it is an independent learning with the set-up of 70%- student independent
learning and 30%- teacher assistance.
This strand is quite challenging but
it is fun, full of enjoyment, we could learn something special on different
subjects academically and the learning’s from the teachers. The teachers have
their own strategy to motivate their student to learn. This field does not only
teach student academically but also how to build unity.
No matter what dreams you have in
life what makes it different from the others is that, that is what your heart
desire. Be patient and kind. God bless.
